It was just an ordinary day in the workshop when the phone rang.... it was from a large scale events company in Northern NSW, Australia, (North Coast Events)
“Alex mate, I've got a gig at Elements in Byron, wondering if you might be able to build a pirate ship?"
We started with a sketch of the design we had in mind, built the whale bone skeleton and started the panelling, bending thin strips of wood to comply with the curved structure.

Before long the full body was complete...

Some features were added and the first coat of stain applied...

Just a few more props were made... and then it was moving day

Arrived at Elements of Byron Resort, now nutting it out with North Coast Events. Where are we going to put everything?

Right... the boys are busy rigging, time to grab a coffee..... poolside

Okay enough of that, back to work... set build time!

.....and now its showtime! Get ready for it... this boat is about to be centre stage for 3 days, every speech, announcement.... and even the band are going to cast out from the deck

Bit of namedropping here... but we are super excited that Kirk Pengilly from INXS played on the boat deck, thank god the build was completely structurally sound!
